How we research

Practical notes. Clear sources.

Know what a hotel note can tell you, and which details still need checking before you book.

Independently researched hotel notes

We compare the name, location and identity of each property across Expedia and Trip.com. We use hotel sources where available to resolve differences. The current eight notes are researched guides, not accounts of personal stays.

Useful distinctions before rankings

Our collection covers different settings. Lakeside, Sarangkot and Sedi’s foothills have different practical implications. We focus on those distinctions rather than publishing an unsupported best-hotel ranking.

No invented rates or scores

We do not manufacture nightly prices, guest ratings, review counts, experiences or dates of stays. Hotel buttons take you to the provider to check live room options and their current terms.

Map locations need context

Markers are indicative. A map pin should be checked against the hotel’s arrival instructions. For Himalayan Front, we used the OpenStreetMap location consistent with the hotel’s published setting rather than a conflicting Expedia marker.

Photography & credits

Hotel photographs come from the matched property galleries on Trip.com. They illustrate the property, not a guaranteed room assignment or current condition. Alexandra’s portrait comes from the owner-supplied project photograph collection.

Dates refer to information checks and editorial updates, not visits. Provider facilities and policies can change. Before making a reservation, confirm anything essential to your plans.
